After Sales You Can Rely On
Your clipper is a highly engineered item of equipment which with care and attention will give years of service. However, to optimise its useful life we strongly recommend the clipper is regularly serviced and the blades sharpened.
Get Smart recognises this is a highly specialised service and recommend the professionalism of  HCS Services who have served this market for over 25 years.  Please click on this link for contact details and a service order form.
Considerations Whilst Using Your Clipper
Blade Resharpening
Always use reputable sharpening companies for your clipper blades.
Cheap resharpening is a false economy as it will significantly reduce the life of your clipper blades and is deeply frustrating.
Avoid Costly Damage
Never immerse your clipper blades into a lubricant / coolant whilst running, since this may draw lubricant / coolant onto the motor and cause it to be damaged.
Safety Features
Find out whether or not your clipper has an overload button.
Safe Operation
Reset the overload button on your clipper by depressing the button past the clipper's casing. To do this, use a pointed instrument, e.g. ball point pen. Once reset, the button should click and should not protrude from the clipper's casing.
Realistic Expectations
Remember, small clippers are very effective trimmers and may be able to perform full clips, but do not have unrealistic expectations, as they may ultimately disappoint under a heavy workload.
Minimise Clipper Heat Gain
Remember, all clippers get warm. To minimise heat gain it is essential to use an appropriate clipper blade lubricant - e.g. Lister's R15 oil. It is also important not to use WD40 or Surgical Spirit, since these actually remove any lubricant that was present on the clipper blades in the first place!
Storage
Your clippers are an investment. Always store your clippers in a moisture-free atmosphere: e.g. an airing cupboard.
Moisture
Remove any latent moisture from your clipper's motor before use by passing warm air over it. e.g. use a hairdryer.
Air Filters
Following each clip remove air filters from your clipper and clean them with soap and water.
